Backyard Movie Night

For our first event, we organized a Backyard Movie Night. Fifteen households across Maplewood set up screens and watched the original 1988 Beetlejuice movie with more than 150 friends and neighbors. At the same moment, we pressed play—sending a signal to the world that Maplewood wants a movie theater so badly, we’re gathering in our own backyards to watch films together as a community.

For this event, I designed and produced social media promotions, and produced the pre-show loop which included original Beetlejuice fan art, and a slide show about the history of the Maplewood Movie Theater.
