This short documentary film, produced over a decade, focuses on the stories of my two aunts. Vivacious raconteur Minnie Bernberg and her sister Nettye share their experiences growing up in boomtown Detroit in the early 20th century. Minnie’s Meise (my-seh or story) tells the story of America, family, and the Jewish immigrant experience through the lens of these two eccentric octogenarians. The original score was written and produced by Josh Urist. Minnie’s Meise was an audience favorite at the Detroit Documentary Film Festival.
